Wow, I have a lot of issues with people! I don't know that I did this assignment correctly, but if anything, I have definitely learned where my sore spots are. Like the video said, the first few that I wrote down were easy, but when I really thought about the things that bugged me, they were more internal, more emotional than just my phone not working or being irritated that I had to take something back to the store this weekend. I found that I am guilty of 99% of the things that bug. I irritate myself. It was difficult to get to the root of the "why" on some things. I don't feel that "just because" would have been an appropriate answer, but that is what I'm finding. Or maybe it is just because I'm not really sure why, I don't know the answer, or I can't find the words for it. I do know that I will get better at this though.
Carolyn, it sounds as though much of your "bugs" come from being a college student. I say this because, I share a lot of these bugs and I am not sure I really had these problems before college. Cleaning has become a bigger hassle. It may due to me leaving things everywhere; my room looks like the inside of a cluttered student's mind. Having no money, really came into play after I began college too. Everything since starting college seems so expensive.
ReplyDeleteI think you did a great job identifying the bugs in your life. You can stop second guessing on whether you did it right. It seems right to me. The other blog post I recently read, said that he had trouble coming up with the list after naming a few too. I was different. After naming a few, I realized I might just hate the world since I kept coming up with a bug, one after another.
Hi, Carolyn! Wow, our bug lists are very different! I found that most of mine had to deal with technology or problems that resulted from delays with people and having to wait, while many of yours deal with characteristics of people and the way they were raised or taught by their surroundings. I think our different experiences can branch from the fact that you are a mom and view raising your child as a huge responsibility for the way your third grader will grow up, while I do not have that responsibility so I view more annoyances by having to wait, ignoring the way a person is the way he or she is, for whatever reason that may be. I think you did a great job in determining all the different “why’s” to your bugs!
ReplyDeleteCarolyn,
ReplyDeleteYour "Bug List" was more revolved around the social aspect of people/children and their issues while my list included the high cost of products and services, car maintenance, and things that interrupt my sleeping. Most of my issues were in my home while your issues mostly were outside the home and delt with people. I did not notice that both our lists included the aggravation of cleaning certain things in our homes. If I mostly focused outside of my home then I think our lists may have been very much similar I also self identified myself as lazy parent but we actually are great parents that put our kids and future goals first.

Carolyn, I agree with you on a lot of your “bugs.” The one that rings true with me the most is when my cell phone doesn’t work. I recently broke my phone and now the screen doesn’t work in certain places and I have to voice text in order to communicate. It is quite frustrating. I enjoyed reading your bug list and I like the way that you explained everything.
